Joint Statement on Away Allocations from Man Utd and Man City Supporter Groups
Whatever the publicly stated reasons for reducing the away allocations for both legs of our recent Carabao Cup semi-final tie, the ‘magic’ of both matches was the victim. Allocations for Premier League derby matches have also suffered with United supporters in particular routinely being given a reduced allocation due to perceived unique higher security risks.
We note that City fans have again been given their full allocation for Sunday’s match. We also welcome the renewed commitment from MUFC at their recent Fans Forum to ‘endeavour to ensure that away clubs (including MCFC) are offered the full entitlement of tickets for future matches at Old Trafford’.
We now ask for MCFC to reciprocate that commitment and for both clubs to work together to provide a permanent reciprocal solution that delivers fully on the away allocations set respectively by the Premier League, EFL and FA, including any required reconfiguration and operational plans to address access, segregation and policing requirements. As responsible supporter groups we are keen to work with you to broker that solution. We also ask for your assurance that no future allocation reduction is ever considered without the full involvement and consultation of official supporter groups.
We will also forward a copy of this statement to the Premier League, the EFL and the FA and w
e would welcome acknowledgement of our request and offer of assistance.
