Impassioned plea to list Old Trafford from family of the man who saved United
On the eve of the meeting to consider MUST's nomination of Old Trafford as an Asset of Community Value under the Localism Act Trafford Council have recieved an impassioned plea from the family of former MUFC Chairman and double saviour James W Gibson.
James W Gibson used his own money to save the club from financial ruin twice and also rebuilt the ground after it was destroyed by war time bombs.
His great nephew, Alan Embling, has written to Trafford Council supporting MUST's nomination and his letter is reproduced below:
