MUFC clarify laptop and iPad stadium ban

MUST received this clarification in response to our query:

It is a security measure and no it doesn’t include radios as far as I’m aware (though that would probably depend on the size – iPhones are not banned, for example despite having filming capability).

There is a left luggage type facility near the ticket office.

Why are these changes being introduced?
In line with UK airports we are reacting to the latest security intelligence. These actions are designed to ensure the continued safety and security of all spectators.

What exactly is a large electronic device?
Any electronic device that is larger than the maximum permitted dimensions of 150mm x 100mm. This includes laptops and tablet devices such as IPads (including IPad minis).

Can I bring my smartphone or camera into the stadium?
Provided that they do not exceed the maximum permitted dimensions of 150mm x 100mm, mobile phones and small lens cameras are permitted within the stadium.

Why is Old Trafford different from other stadiums?
The regulations at each stadium are a matter for the relevant stadium management authorities, however, the scale of Old Trafford and profile of Manchester United mean that the risk at this venue is unique.

Why can’t I demonstrate that my device is genuine by powering it up on request?
The configuration of the stadium and arrival profile of spectators means that it is impractical to deal with individual requests of this nature.
